Levy County also offers many opportunities to relax while immersed in Florida’s natural beauty. The county is home to Goethe State Forest which provides residents with a unique way of experiencing a range of Florida’s natural environments. The Goethe State Forest is home to native wildlife such as bears, tortoise and bald eagles. From flatwoods to swamp to sand hills, Goethe State Forest encompasses a variety of terrain. 
Camping, hiking and horse trails are available in the forest.
 
Manatee Springs is another popular spot in Levy County. A state-run park, Manatee Springs offers visitors opportunities to swim, snorkel, and scuba dive. Located close to Chiefland, Fowler’s Bluff is a riverside community located in Levy County that provides river access and is a great place to go fishing. The Waccasassa River is a popular destination for anglers, as it is accessible only by boat and provides access to both freshwater and saltwater fish.
